🌿 Sustainability at the Heart of the Kingdom County Show
At the Kingdom County Show, sustainability is an important part of how we organise the event each year. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact while celebrating the very best of agriculture, rural life and community in County Kerry.
Through a number of practical initiatives, we aim to make the Show an enjoyable and environmentally responsible event for everyone attending.
🚗 Travel Smart
Where possible, we encourage visitors to consider sustainable travel options when attending the Show.
✅ Carpooling Encouraged
Share lifts with friends, family or neighbours travelling to the Show. This helps reduce traffic congestion and emissions while making the journey more enjoyable.
♻️ Waste Reduction & Recycling
Protecting our showgrounds and surrounding countryside is a priority.
✅ Recycling & Waste Separation
Clearly marked bins will be located throughout the showgrounds for recycling and general waste. Visitors are kindly asked to use the correct bins and help keep the showgrounds clean.
✅ Eco-Friendly Packaging
Many of our food vendors use recyclable or compostable packaging to help reduce waste.
🧺 Enjoy a Sustainable Picnic
Visitors can enjoy food from our local artisan producers and food vendors, or bring their own picnic to enjoy in the seating areas around the showgrounds.
We encourage the use of reusable containers and minimal packaging wherever possible.
📲 Go Digital
To reduce paper waste, show information such as schedules, maps and event updates will be available on our website and social media channels, with QR codes placed around the showgrounds for easy access.
🌱 Biodiversity & Environmental Village
The Show will also feature a Biodiversity & Environmental Area, where visitors can learn more about protecting wildlife and supporting nature.
Exhibitors and organisations will share information on topics such as:
• Pollinator-friendly planting
• Native trees and hedgerows
• Wildlife conservation
• Sustainable farming practices
This area highlights the strong connection between agriculture, rural communities and the natural environment, which lies at the heart of the Kingdom County Show.
